Play Tetris

Description

So I spent like over 5 hours of my Saturday afternoon just working on this straight. I get online, look up some Basshunter because I wanted to download his music and check him out, and I notice his Tetris remix. Well, I think I felt a tear go down my cheek as I exited my audio editing program. :XD:

Rather than a nice self-esteem boost from my friend, I got something equivalent to "JUST PUT THE GOD-DAMNED THING UP." Well, at least that's in my depressed eyes. :XD:

I honestly didn't want to do a techno remix. I wanted to have the Tetris A theme (called Korobeiniki in its official Russian, which is the only name I know the song by. I totally forgot the game called the music Theme A, B, and C.) in a sort of Russian folk style. Then I added a bass and it sounded pretty good. So added percussion. Doing percussion by hand on a keyboard is the single-most hardest thing I've ever done. I honestly spent more than half of my time getting the percussion right. Techno makes tempo sound easy, but it's not. It is so hard to keep tempo. You can hear the percussion screw up a few times in my song.

Well, this was a good experiment. I played around with sound effects in the audio editing program (Audacity). I also played around with panning the sound. There are two segments in the song with an electric guitar going back and forth. It sounds like a telephone ringing. Yea, I like that. It sounds funny, and funny I like, Yoda says. Just so you know, though, the compressed sound file took out the guitars so you can't hear them here. I also played around with percussion. This is the only song I've ever used the whip sound. The only time I've ever heard that instrument used was in the the SSBM opening theme. You can go take a listen and you'll hear it for sure. It's near the beginning. I only know that because I have the SSBM soundtrack on my iPod.

What sucks about this song is I started it yesterday, and the memory on my keyboard ran out halfway through the harpsichord. So I had to record each track into the audio program directly and overlap them there. Do you know how hard it is to time these things correctly? Insanely hard. This was such an irritating song to make.

My keyboard doesn't have any cool synthesizers that you would normally hear in techno. :(

Sooo.....pity me and more of my crappy techno crap. DJ M0T-MoT LIVES ON!

This song is like 6:30 minutes long.

Instruments:

Bass
Pizzicato Strings
Harpsichord
Some sort of wind instrument that I don't know the name of.
Dulcimer
Percussion

Aaah, I thought this was a game. >.<
Still very entertaining. I really like this remix of Korobeiniki.
